3rd edition of the Mazda IRONMAN 70.3 Acapulco Riviera Diamante presented by Mundo Imperial

The third edition of the Mazda IRONMAN 70.3 Acapulco Riviera Diamante presented by Mundo Imperial was held on Sunday, March 26 with the presence of 1,500 competitors from 26 countries.

The IRONMAN 70.3 Global Series is a circuit made up of competitions in which half the distances of an IRONMAN are covered, that is, 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km of cycling and 21 km of running. The series culminates each year with the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.

In the Mazda IRONMAN 70.3 Acapulco Riviera Diamante presented by Mundo Imperial, competitors swam 1.9 kilometers at Majahua Beach in Puerto Marques Bay. Start time was at 6:20 am. The bike and run took place on a beautiful course along the Riviera Diamante in Acapulco, Guerrero, with the finish line in front of the Pierre Mundo Imperial Hotel.  The time limit for the entire event was 8.30 hours after the last athlete entered the sea in the Rolling Start.

The event handed out 30 Age Group qualifying slots for the Vinfast IRONMAN 70.3 2023 World Championship, to be held on 26-27 August 2023 in Lathi, Finland. The awarding of automatic slots took place on Sunday 26 March in the Diamond Room of the Princess Mundo Imperial Hotel, immediately after the end of the awards ceremony which started at 18:00.

The competitor's packet delivery took place on Friday 24th March from 12:00 to 18:00 hours and on Saturday 25th March from 9:00 to 15:00 hours in the Diamond Rooms of the Princess Mundo Imperial Hotel.

On Saturday 25th the swimming practice took place at Playa Majahua from 6:20 to 8:00 am and the bikes were taken to transition 1 located in Marina Cabo Marqués from 13:00 to 16:30 hours.
